This Display Seal is also known as gasket, as it is used on display LCDs to provide sealing, load distribution, gap filling and to protect display units from mechanical shocks. Gaskets are used to seal enclosures at the edge of the viewing area from dust and light water exposure such as occasional water drips. It also spreads the compression load of the housing or bezel on the display. Without a gasket, the enclosure that holds the display in place can develop pressure points on the display which causes distortions, false contacts or short circuits. The seal also fills gaps between the screen and display and/or the screen and bezel, is made of Rubberlite MC-1900PE Microcell Polyethylene and comes with 3M adhesive on the edge for easy installation. This off-white Display Seal is used in GE's Giraffe Incubator and Giraffe Omnibed systems.
