The Hercules Heat Exchanger Power Supply Assembly consists of a Power Supply Unit (PSU) and a cover. The power supply can operate with universal input voltages that range from 100 to 120V and 200 to 240V respectively, and the frequency of operation range is from 47 to 63 Hz. The input surge current is less than 75A at 115V/230V input. The output voltage of the unit is 48V nominal and the ripple and noise generated at the output can be terminated with capacitors paralleled between the end of output cables and loads. When the DC output has an over voltage condition, the power supply can provide latch off mode over voltage protection. The unit also includes short circuit protection as well. The outer cover for the unit is made up of steel sheet with 0.9mm thickness. Steel has great formability, durability, good yield and tensile strength. Most importantly the material has superior corrosion resistance, thus makes it suitable for wide range of applications. It is provided with zinc plating to make it even more corrosion resistant. This unit is used in many systems such as PET Discovery 690, CT LightSpeed 7.X VCT 64-Slice, PET Discovery STE and PET Discovery RX 128-Slice, among others.
