A Spring Pin is a fastener with a body and spring. When the pin is inserted into a hole, the spring action of the pin compresses onto the walls of the hole. The force exerted by this pin against the walls of hole is uniform and retains the position of pin securely in the hole. The pin can withstand the rotational friction and side loads and hence is extensively used in fastening shafts and axles. It is made of stainless steel which is highly corrosive resistant and hence is often used in challenging environments and temperatures.
