Product Overview
The Fuse is an electrical device used to protect the electrical circuit from the effects of current higher than usual. This safety device consists of a strip of wire that melts and breaks an electric circuit, when the current level exceeds a desired level. Different types of fuses are available which can be selected based on the application. It is the simple and cost-effective way of protection, and it does need any maintenance. The fast acting fuse open for an overload and short-circuits very quickly. Its operation is completely automatic and requires less time as compared to circuit breakers. The smaller size of the fuse element imposes a current limiting effect under short-circuit conditions. They are always connected in series with the components to be protected from overcurrent, so that when the fuse blows (opens) it will open the entire circuit and stop current through the components. The part is compliant to IEC standards, ROHS and CE declaration of conformity and is approved for today’s safety standards. It is diligently designed for high performance and reliability. The GE product is an innovation and technology which fits well into versatile customer needs.
